As a technical reference, Dolby’s 5.1.4 mix-room appendix uses 110 degrees as the ideal side-surround angle, with a recommended range of 90 to 120 degrees. That document is written for mix-room design rather than ordinary living-room furniture placement, so it should not replace the instructions for a consumer’s actual speakers.
